A homeowner initially believed they had received a false leak alert after finding the floor dry. However, because AquaSensing's detector is completely battery-free and only transmits an alert when activated by direct contact with water, the notification indicated that moisture had been present. To investigate, the homeowner placed a thin plastic film beneath the detector to capture any intermittent leaks. During the next alert, the film collected a small amount of water, confirming a pressure-dependent micro-leak from a hidden pipe defect. The early detection allowed the plumbing issue to be repaired before it developed into costly water damage.
